The Paula Carr Diabetes Trust provides blood glucose meters free of charge to diabetes patients who would benefit from blood glucose control, following assessment by diabetes nurse specialists, your GP or practice nurse. The basic idea is to improve the sugar control of diabetics most at risk in the long-term, for whom using meters should bring about a reduction in diabetic complications.
There are several blood glucose meters included in our distribution programme. These include Accu-Chek Compact Plus, Accu-Check Aviva, Lifescan Ultra and Freedom Lite.
These meters are only available through your health care professional and can be obtained by your practice nurse or GP from our Trust.
