Sarah Gregory

Everyone at the Paula Carr Diabetes Trust would like to congratulate Sarah Gregory, in-patient diabetes specialist nurse at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, who has been appointed a Diabetes UK Clinical Champion.

One of 17 new Clinical Champions appointed across the UK, Sarah has been recruited to drive improvements in diabetes care across the local health system in East Kent.

During her two-year post, Sarah will be focusing on a project in care homes where she will be developing training for care workers to help them improve care for elderly residents living with diabetes, including the administering of insulin.

Sarah says: “This is a particularly vulnerable group of patients who have an increased likelihood of being admitted to hospital with a diabetic episode. I will be helping district nurses and care workers in care homes across East Kent to build their skills and confidence to help care for these residents and reduce the risk of hospital admission.”
