National Citizens Service Social Action Group

August 17, 2018

The Ashford NCS group, as part of their citizens’ awareness, created a documentary about the Paula Carr Diabetes Trust. It was chosen as one of the group has a family member with this chronic condition.

NCS is UCAS recommended and attendees take part to gain skills for their future, increase confidence and develop a network of friends. The production of the film was the final stage of their time together.

The film’s first showing to tutors, family members and two Paula Carr Trustees was held at the diabetes centre. It was a very emotional occasion for everyone as this group has now dispersed.

The group raised over £200 for the Paula Carr Diabetes Trust and many of the group can be seen presenting the money raised to Chairman Gary Fagg. In his thank you speech Gary said that he had been overwhelmed by the generosity and enthusiasm of the group and wished them all well in their future education and careers.
